Guest Denis Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 We have just re-located our Win2003 servers to a new office location, 2 servers one running Exchange. However since the move we have lost all our licenses for both Server and Exchange, including the 5 "integrated" licenses that come with each Win2003Std Server. (as displayed by the Licensing Manager via Admin tools). I have now re-entered all the licence details available (on our open licence sheme) from the Eopen website. The Licence Manager displays the entered licenses but still shows that none have been purchased and shows all users as being unlicensed. I have waited approx' 12 hours since entering the details to allow for an auto-update if it is required. I have no clear way to re-enter the 5 licenses that should come with each Win2003Std server installation. The only practical difference between the old location and the new office is we had to change the public IP address of the system - we had we ADSL installed. I would like to resolve this issue ASAP.
Guest Danny Sanders Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Re: Licensing problem Stop and disable the license logging service. It is not necessary for everyday use of a server. It is an afterthought admin "helper" that does not work too well. Keep track of your licenses as if in per seat mode. Add a new computer to the domain buy a CAL at the same time. hth DDS "Denis" <Denis@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4B082433-1ECF-439F-9E6B-691929E0C867@microsoft.com... > We have just re-located our Win2003 servers to a new office location, 2 > servers one running Exchange.
