Policy Preventing Kernel Mode Printer Drivers

I'm not sure if this is something new in SP2, but apparently there is now

some group policy option to prevent installation of printer drivers with

kernel mode drivers. I need to install to Windows 2003 64-bit a driver

for the HP 9050DN. Does anyone know if HP makes any driver for this

printer that is not a kernel mode driver?

The policy setting is is present in XP too.

If you do need to install a Kernel-mode driver you could always amend

the policy to allow it.

That would be okay if the driver would stay installed and continue to work.

Unfortunately, the way I read that group policy option as soon as we later

turn the option back on the kernel mode drivers will stop loading? That

doesn't look good. And allowing normal users to install kernel-mode

anything doesn't seem right either.
