Guest Matt Carter Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Is my Remote Desktop Connection session on Server 2003 Standard Edition R2 SP2 x32 improved at all visually if I am looking at a website with images on it, if I have say a 128MB video card instead of the onboard ....32MB or 64MB video? When images come on the pages or I am looking at screenshots from users, I find that the graphics are slow. I might be my connection, however when I am doing everything else it is OK. I am on a cable connection with a slow upload rate, however, it is DECENT. I wonder if I put in a 128MB video card if things will improve or if I'm in fantasy land and should wake up and realize it's the upload rate that is killing me and a 512MB video card won't help me at all. Thank you.

Hello, except with Windows Vista, Windows desktop use CPU, only a few of video card power. But on the RDP profile, you can choose the number of color. I think you are stuck in 256 colors, TSE can do much better (16 bits at least) Start by checking your RDP profile -- Cordialement, Mathieu CHATEAU http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com "Matt Carter" <MLCarter1976@yahoo.com.(doNOTspam)> wrote in message news:F52D811C-C382-4DE9-8870-AFF5F52EF49A@microsoft.com... > Is my Remote Desktop Connection session on Server 2003 Standard Edition R2 > SP2 x32 improved at all visually if I am looking at a website with images > on > it, if I have say a 128MB video card instead of the onboard ....32MB or > 64MB > video? Guest Matt Carter Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Re: RDC improved with better video card? So the more colors, the better? Wouldn't that have more data to pass back and forth over the network slowing my upload rate? Guest Mathieu CHATEAU Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Re: RDC improved with better video card? You have to choose ;) You would need around 50Kb/s for 16 bits not an issue, even with the poorest ADSL connection -- Cordialement, Mathieu CHATEAU http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com "Matt Carter" <MLCarter1976@yahoo.com.(doNOTspam)> wrote in message news:9138C055-9FBA-4957-AE11-B5CF966CEBB7@microsoft.com... > So the more colors, the better?
