Guest Alvaro Soto Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Hello, Issue: I have setup offer remote assistance via a GPO link to the domain in my SBS 2003 LAN. I can connect to user’s computers using the help and support tool but when I try to start the Remote Assistance an error takes place “userinit.exe – Application error. The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application.” The symptoms: 1. The error “userinit.exe – Application error” displays right after the logon screen. 2. The error “userinit.exe – Application error” displays inside the help and support center window at the “expert” side, as if the message was on the user’s computer screen. However the message is not displayed at user PC. Also the help and support center window at the “expert” side shows the message “waiting for answer” on the top right column. 3. The user PC doesn’t get any message from the help and support tool. However the even viewer shows the ticket has been created and also shows the userinit.exe error. 4. When restarting the user PC a message displays saying that another user is connected to the computer. Can anybody help me to troubleshoot these? Regards
