Guest cyberdude Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 I asked this question back in July, but received no answer. As I'm rather new to this, any help would be appreciated. I'm still having the same problem and those who are affected (especially my boss) are getting a little perturbed. Thanks in advance. For some reason which I have yet been unable to figure, a few of my users who were upgraded from NT profiles to 2003 profiles have a delay of approx 24hrs when printing to our color printer (shared out using AD). While newly installed profiles - not upgraded - have no delay. Any idea what is going on here?? Thanks, Tom -- Tom Zucker-Scharff Systems Administrator
Guest Ryan Hanisco Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 RE: Print Delay with AD Printer Hi Cyberdude, If you've been working with this for so long, I am sure you've gone through a ton of things to try to resolve it. Maybe you could give us a lit of what you've checked already. As a starting point. I would pull the networked printer and try printing to it directly. This should let you know if there is a local spooler or a driver issue. From there I would work on updating the driver on the server and forcing the workstation to add the printer again. If the issue still persisted, I would start troubleshooting at the profiles themselves. Guest cyberdude Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 RE: Print Delay with AD Printer Thanks for your reply. Here is what I've tried so far: Printing locally - works fine printing from other computers to the net printer - works fine deleting printers on affected machines/profiles and reinstalling - no go created test user and tried printing from affected machine - no go tried connecting to printer through AD and as a shared printer from the server The more I look at what I've already done, the more I think it must be something one the specific machine and not the profiles. Especially when I try printing to the net printer from a different profile on the same machine - which doesn't work. So does that mean I need to reinstall windows on those machines, or is there something more specific and less drastic that I can do? -- Tom Zucker-Scharff Systems Administrator "Ryan Hanisco" wrote: > Hi Cyberdude, > > If you've been working with this for so long, I am sure you've gone through > a ton of things to try to resolve it.
