Please can anyone help me ,my pc won't recongnize any device that i plug in .

Have you tried all of your USBs, or just one? Did they work in the past, and have stopped working? Or have they never worked?

run services.msc

enable the plug and play devices service

then reboot and try again...

Okay i know wht you are going through because i have it too, anything i plug in is unrecognised or not even shown as being plugged in...

i have tried all USB slots

i have tried installing new drivers

i have triedthe same devices on different pc's and they all work

there is still power going to the USB slots because things still charge and light up but are unusable

 

PLEASE HELP, THIS IS SERIOUS I CAN'T USE WEBCAM, PSP, MP3, IPOD, MEMORY STICK USB MOUSE , E.T.C

 

any help would be much apreciated and please help before this weekend as i need to upload some files to psp before my holiday

have you tried updating drivers etc.

have you tried uninstalling the usb's from device manager then re-installing them....does that work

 

to do this got to start>control panel>system>hardware>device manager>universal serial bus controllers.right click the devices then click install.try them again after install.

 

also may want to try plugging in the device when doing the install (as above) it may find the device then....i am halfway through repairing a laptop with the same issue..

i have not tried this yet as my user on this computer does not have user privelages as soon as i can get the main user of this computer to try this i shall post my progress and wether or not this works

i thank you for your advice but i have to report that it has not helped, when i get to the universal serial bus controllers is the device manager it had got 2 unknown device icons when my devices are pluged in i have uninstalled these and tried installing drivwers but this has been unsuccessful

 

any more ideas?

i dont think you may have read correctly.......dont plug anything in first....just delete any reference in device mangager to usb .then right click and click scan for hardware changes,it will then re-install the drivers....

the unknown devices what are these.

what make of board do you have....or what usb card do you have..

we need more info on your pc spec to ascertain if we can get you sorted.

i have tried what you told me and it all seemed to have worked, i was givven reports on my computor saying that my usb was installed and readdy for use but then when i tried pluging in my usb devices a balloon in the lower righ hand corner pops up saying unknown device and my usb devices are unusable

 

still asking for any other help, if can be given please post it

please can you give me the make of your motherboard....take the side of your case of and note the model...or downlod adia32 (google for it) and then that software will give oyu all info on your pc hardware/software....i will see i fi can give you a link to a new driver.......is this happenin gon all ports for definate...not just front ports

my front ports are broken and only three of the four back usb ports usually work, but all ports give the same response, i will get back to you with the make of my motherboard

4 of the usb ports work why is this...

is one of the ports broken,is the pins bent,,,is the white seperater block missing.

can you give me as much info as possible......when did tihs all start,what was you doing before,,and what have you tried...info is the key to the answer.have you done any hardware/software changes since this was working

what you need to do is load it up and then click on mainboard,,,it will then tell you your motherboard make.if it doesnt go to usb and then tell me what it says in there.......

what is wrong with your back ports...read my last post
