Guest computerkiller Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 I created a shortcut to open a Excel document, but when I try to change the file type I can not get the Excel as the "open with". Excel is not in the list of programs and it will not allow me to add it. Help please. Thank you

Go to Program files/Microsoft Office and locate the Excel executable. This should automatically add Excel to the program list. Good luck. Serhan.

What file type did you have originally? If you browse to the folder containing the document, right-click and drag it to the desktop or wherever you want your shortcut, then choose Create Shortcut Here, doesn't it have the correct file type? -- Nightowl
