I created a shortcut to open a Excel document, but when I try to change the

file type I can not get the Excel as the "open with". Excel is not in the

list of programs and it will not allow me to add it. Help please. Thank you

You can try this.

In the "open with" dialog box there is a browse button. Go to Program

files/Microsoft Office and locate the Excel executable. This should

automatically add Excel to the program list.

Good luck.

Hi computerkiller

I don't understand why you would need to change the file type. What file

type did you have originally? If you browse to the folder containing the

document, right-click and drag it to the desktop or wherever you want

your shortcut, then choose Create Shortcut Here, doesn't it have the

correct file type?
