I've seen software that monitors the power supply voltages. What is the name

of the software?

This software is supplied by the motherboard manufacturer.

There's a description here:

MBM5 is one I've used in the past, however it's now outdated.

I've never used these and don't know anything about them, yet you may want to check

them out.

Very true but I don't mind b_11 but it would be nice if b_11 said a little

more information in his[her] posts.

Beyond what the others have supplied; these applications will only work IF

the mobo chip set(s) support such activity/monitoring.

The chips must supply hooks/feed back to allow them to work at all.

var-Depending upon the age of the target mobo/power supply, the function may

or may not be supported, though most newer boards do supply some [if not

all] the necessary abilities. If actually interested, please either use the

manufacturers' tool, or check to ensure the particular chipset is supported

[in third party programs] as some have been known to cause difficulties.

Everest is a good one and it's older Home version is free which you can

still find around the web. It's very stable.

I seeI have Everest Home v2.01.347 of which I just took a quick

screenshot of where it shows voltages, and I circled them to show.

...as MEB so rightly said though, your MB must support the monitoring! Mine

does but I only start up Everest if I want to see something, otherwise it

stays off.

Rick,

The last free Home version available was 2.20.405. If you want it you can get it

here:

Like Dan said, would be nice if a little more information was provided by

b11.

As usual, a flurry of replies that may or may not be a solution. Hook,

Thanks Brian,

I didn't keep up so much with the Home version since I used the Ultimate

version, but replied to the OP for the free version and picked one of the

zip non-install versions to run/open for the screenshot just to make sure

the free home version had the Sensors too..

I had contemplated whether to even respond to b11_'s post, as I have

previously, largely due to the failure to define the why's for the postings

within the post, and when confronted or requested for more information, if

supplied, the information generally follows vague lines or descriptions

which still require *educated guesses* for the most part.

As b11_ has been posting here and elsewhere [which can be searched for], it

would appear obvious that it would be known that more definitive statements

[preliminary information] lead to definitive answers.

Often these discussions [b11_'s] lead to long dis-similar threads as no one

knows exactly how to answer as the questions are so vague.

For those and other reasons I chose *exhibitions* [a public show} rather

than expositions [interpretation] or expeditions [for some particular

purpose] though each might apply in some form.

For instance to accually answer the question *as placed*, one would need to

list ALL the programs which might apply to each chipset, manufactuer tools

and links, third party programs, and which chips are supported and which

aren't, etc.. Moreover, one would also need to address whether these

programs must be run individually, as part of startup, etc., and whether any

potential conflicts could occur, as not even the chipset is known, and some

programs/applications do have distinct issues which may affect the system,

OS, and/or the motherboard.

Per my original response: without that specific information those whom

might have tried to use some monitoring program on an old machine or a board

which has no support, or the wrong chipset, and been unsuccessful or worse,

there lay the answer. Hence a completion of potential issues without

potential lengthy threads of complaints of those failures.
