Guest Shivaram Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Hi Everybody, This is shiv i have got five clients and a switch and a modem and an internet connection from the local ISp, and a DC. I have one of the clients connected to the internet directly through the modem. I have the DC and the other clients ( 4 clints and DC going to switch) There is a provixion so that i can connect a cable from my modem to the switch also.( There are three ports at the back of teh modem Lan 1 , 2 .3 ) so i can run a cable to the switch through which i can achieve Server Name is: Server Client Name: Sys2, sys3, sys4 All the clients have Win XP , Server : win 2003 Promoted as an DC No wmy question is .. I am able to ping the clients from the DC,i see all of them are joined to the domain, however whenever i try to access any of these clients from server or vice versa i get an error message saying i am not having the admin rights where as i am admin of all these things. When i go to My Network Places - Click Complete Network - Microsoft windows network from the server i do not see the domain over there and it come up with an error message, whereas when i try doing the same from the client i get to that window without any errors and i see that the window is blank wwithout aand domain mentioned over there ( like three compuuters joibned icon ) Can anyone help me out with this issue It wouolld be great help if any can help me out with the present issues and suggest me what to do so that i can go ahead and get all the computers on network and all the computers should be able to get connected to the internet. The router will do NAT for you (network address translation) and your windows server/DC should do DHCP for the LAN-connected computers.
