Hi Everybody,

This is shiv i have got five clients and a switch and a modem and an

internet connection from the local ISp, and a DC.

I have one of the clients connected to the internet directly through the

modem.

I have the DC and the other clients ( 4 clints and DC going to switch)

There is a provixion so that i can connect a cable from my modem to the

switch also.( There are three ports at the back of teh modem Lan 1 , 2 .3 )

so i can run a cable to the switch through which i can achieve

Server Name is: Server

Client Name: Sys2, sys3, sys4

All the clients have Win XP , Server : win 2003 Promoted as an DC

No wmy question is .. I am able to ping the clients from the DC,i see all of

them are joined to the domain, however whenever i try to access any of these

clients from server or vice versa i get an error message saying i am not

having the admin rights where as i am admin of all these things.

When i go to My Network Places - Click Complete Network - Microsoft windows

network from the server i do not see the domain over there and it come up

with an error message, whereas when i try doing the same from the client i

get to that window without any errors and i see that the window is blank

wwithout aand domain mentioned over there ( like three compuuters joibned

icon )

Can anyone help me out with this issue

It wouolld be great help if any can help me out with the present issues and

suggest me what to do so that i can go ahead and get all the computers on

network and all the computers should be able to get connected to the internet.

Thanks in Advance

Shiv

This is not the way to go - see below.

Get yourself a decent little firewall appliance and configure your network

like this:

Modem --->router/firewall-->Ethernet switch.

The router will do NAT for you (network address translation) and your

windows server/DC should do DHCP for the LAN-connected computers.
