I would like so advice on this subject if anyone has any to give...

 

I was looking to buy off this website...

i started looking at CPU's and i DONT want AMD!

I was looking at...

 

Intel Quad Q6600 - £152

Inter Core 2 Duo E8400 - £135

 

the duo would do me but am i may as well gettin the quad for like 17 quid more??

 

also what motherboard shale i get? i dont know which to look for

Hey, it all depends really on what your budget is and what you want to use your PC for afterwards.

 

Dalo is the guy you need to look at this for you :P He helped me an awful lot on my new build, I'm not sure if it will help but heres my thread which he helped me with a lot trying to decide between componants and stuff.

Hi Chris,

 

I would get the Q6600 as they are more powerful and futureproof over a dual core.

Have a look at polo's thread but be aware that SOME MOBO's hate Q6600 chips as they cannot handle the voltage drops of the chip - One that does is in my sig - The ASUS P5K Premium :)

 

If you need any help about other components or the build then shout up - and I use scan for most of my components, them and Microdirect.
