MSE turned orange. Won't turn green

GW laptop; Win7 Home Prem, 64 bit. Been running MSE a long time with no issues (except it occasionally misses something coming in, but they all do). Last week it turned orange, which it's done in the past: 'you haven't run MSE in a long time and your system

is potentially unprotected'. I updated the definitions and ran a full on C drive where all the programs are. Nope, still orange, and it did complete. Next day I updated again and ran a complete on D and E which are just storage partitions. Still orange. Never

done this before. I used to be able to turn it back green by just running a complete on one major directory, like Windows. Any ideas? (and I did a Restart).
