AVG Update Problem

I have a licensed version of AVG 8.0.169 and there is a problem with updating the anti-virus and anyi-spyware.

 

Each day, AVG automatically updates but now this has stopped. The anti-virus and anti-spyware databases are 'out of date' and when i try a manual update, AVG just states it is'checking for updates' but never finds any thus leaving it out of date permanently.

 

I emailed AVG about the problem and they sent me a diag' tool which i ran and sent back the results. AVG have failed to reply and now the diag' tool is not working.

 

Any help would be great as im worried im leaving my computer unprotected.

AVG is an extremely weak Antivirus program - you would be FAR better downloading AVAST or AVIRA FREE versions.

Of course you may be still within the time period you paid for, but I also will recommend changing for Avast or Avira, both are free and superior to AVG. It may once have been a good program but not any more. I have seen more problems for users in the last two years than with any other security program. Please change it to a better one. If you don't mind paying a reasonable fee we also recommend Nod 32 among a few others, see here-
