I have two computers, both running Vista home 64bit, recently installed Security Essentials on both. On both machines, Canon cameras worked fine before MSE was installed and stopped working after the install. Symptoms identical - in Device Manager, device

status for the camera shows "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)." Searching online I saw many references to deleting "UpperFilters" entry in registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass{EEC5AD98-8080-425F-922A-DABF3DE3F69A},

but there is no such entry for that key in either machine so I have not touched the registry. Any ideas?
