After reinstalling Windows XP, video settings are not correct

Original title: viedo settings

I have had to re-format and reinstall XP. Everything is working except for certain things like graphics, card and other games and some photos. They come up very wide and short. I assume it's something in the video settings that's set to landscape but

I can't find where. Can anyone help.
