I have an LG DVD Rewriter GH20 installed in my PC. I have a Packard Bell, with Windows XP Home edition 2002.

The PC came with only a CD drive, so a friend, who knows his way round a computer, installed the LG. But my computer, although it seems to recognise the drive, doesnt burn anything at all. I go through the burn process and get the 'burn has successfully completed', but the disc is empty! I had wanted to burn movies that I downloaded, legally, and burn photo files, but it just doesnt work. Can anyone help, please?

What program are you using to try and do the burning with?

alot of players need firmware updates - ask your friend to do this if you are unsure as a bad firmware update can leave the drive inoperable.

Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)

Asus P5K premium black pearl

4GB OCZ Reaper 8500

Are you using the burn data disk option??

If so then it does sound like an issue with the burner - a firmware update would be the next course of action

Does it read cd's ok?

Try using an alternate burning program and burn a data disk with regular files:

Another option would be to try burning a cd from a different manufacturer.
