How can I change the day of the month of a recurring appointment in Microsoft Calendar for all futur

I have been using Microsoft Calendar in the Vista operating system and have set up recurring appointments on the 20th of each month. This has worked fine up until this month. I want to retain all previous appointments as the 20th but now I want this month and all future months to be on the 15th of the month. Can this be done? It appears to me that I can only change a single month or change the whole series from beginning Month a couple of years ago. Is this true? If so, what a pain.
