I have a pair of 500GB drives configured as a mirrored storage space, which is reported in the Manage Storage Spaces applet as:

"Two-way mirror

493 GB

Using 929 GB pool capacity"

To test this thoroughly I've filled the storage space, and as expected (from what I'd read) Windows 8 automatically takes the drive offline. Disk Manager shows "The disk is offline because it is out of capacity".

Now, I'd like to be able to delete some files from the storage space, but as soon as I try to bring the drive online, it immediately goes offline again.

How do you get out of this situation?
