XP Classic Start Menu

I run XP SP2 and IE7. I much prefer the classic start menu but would like to

change the order in which items are listed in the centre portion which

includes Run, Settings, Search, Programs. Unfortunately it is not possible

to drag items within this centre portion.

 

Specifically the change I want (for ease of mouse navigation) is to place

Search above Settings (currently it is immediately below).

 

Can someone supply the Registry settings, please?

I don't know the answer to your question.

 

I was not satisfied with the XP search function so I deleted Search from

the start menu (I found a registry hack using Google), installed Agent

Ransack (which is tons better than the XP search) and then placed a shortcut

to it in the first position above the center part of the menu. Works for
