Security essential's windows Virus is off. How can I get it On?

McAfee posted a note that my computer ls at risk . when i opened the security essential i found that Firewall is ON, Windows update is ON, but Virus is OFF. I tried every thing to get it on but i could't succeed. Please, what can i do to get it on?
