Problem installing .Net framework 2

I am running XP on a Compaq Presario SR1320NX.

I wanted to use the "fixit" routine but got the message that I needed .Net framework 2.

I downloaded it but when I try to install, it gets to the very end and gives me system error 0x08131107.

 

What do I do to correct this?
