In Vista 32 bit, windows update will not run.

  1. If an attempt is made to run Windows update, it shows a message that it can't run because the windows update service isn't running and that the computer should be restarted. Restart did not fix the problem. Checking in MSCONFIG shows that the windows
    update service is running. Tried the fix-it ap with no success. Ideas??
