Guest Steve H Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Decided it would be a good idea for my a/c not to appear on the welcome screen of our laptop. (XPHome). 2 x ctrl alt delete, gets up the log in prompt and lets me in fine. But then, if one wants to change user, or if the welcome screen comes back after the m/c has been idle for a while, ctrl alt del does not do anything. How can one get back into an already open a/c (or log in as the administrator for that matter) that does not appear on the welcome screen? Puzzled, S

Guest spamlet Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Re: log on/change user poser Hi Kelly, Good to hear from you. Not sure in what way you wanted me to try the shift key, but I've tried it on its own and in combination with the ctrl alt del , and even the alt gr for good measure, tab and esc; and still the only way I can get back to my hidden account is to restart, in order to get ctrl alt del working again. Maybe I ought to try and see if the administrator account itself behaves the same way... More suggestions 'Welcome'. Guest Steve H Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Re: log on/change user poser Now tried with the Administrator account, but can only get into this with safe mode, in which the m/c does not seem to go to sleep, so situation does not apply in this case.
