I have a retail version of Windows 7 Home Premium, with key. I plan to build an entirely new computer (CPU, MB, case, memory, video card, etc.), but then use my current hard drive (because it's quite new), on which I personally installed Windows 7 about

one year ago. I've read various posts on both Extreme Tech Supports and other sites. But the answers are somewhat contradictory: I'll just need to do a Windows repair; I'll need to simply activate my Windows again via phone; I'll need to do a complete fresh install;

and variations of all of these?

Can someone give me the real story about what I'll need to do? FYI, I currently back up my data files using Memeo Instant Backup onto a Seagate external drive, and also use Windows 7 backup onto a different external drive. I

don't, however, presently have a complete mirror image backup (or whatever it's called), although I could, of course.

I'd appreciate some assistance on how I should proceed. Thanks.
