Recently I updated from IE8 to IE9 and had about a month of trouble-free browsing. Then IE9 started to get very slow loading pages and eventually just became completely unresponsive. I have just uninstalled it and have reverted to IE8 but, after the program opens, it is also unresponsive. What should I do? Uninstall IE8 and then reinstall it?

As it happens I also downloaded Google Chrome around the same time I updated to IE9 and actually posted a question about whether Chrome can interfere with Windows in any way. Since then the laptop freezes I was experiencing have completely stopped - thankfully! - and so I don't think Chrome was interfering in any way with Windows (though I wonder if it might have affected Internet Explorer). At the moment Google Chrome is working very well but, after many years using IE, I would still like to be able to browse with it.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Kevin.
