I am running Windows 7 and I am logged on as the administrator. I am trying to run DOS commands from the command prompt,

but I am running into a problem. For example when I run defrag from the C: prompt. I receive this message.

"The disk defrgamenter cannot start because you have insufficient priveleges to perform this operation. "

Also, if I try to create a file in the C: or C:Users directories, I get the "Access is denied" message.

I am able to schedule the defrag using the Disk Defragmenter tool in Windows 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
