Problem Installation Updates

[AWS]

i use windows 8 pro...

there are many updates which require a restart to finish installation...

these are already downloaded and every time system restarts, windows takes 15 minutes to install those updates and configures till 98%,..

later i get a message saying 'failure configuring updates' and it reverts changes...

i lose at-least another 45 minutes... really fed up...

does anyone have a solution to this problem?
