Some way to temporarily stop MSE from running?

I'd like to work offline (no internet connection) moving hundreds of large videos, databases, and pictures I'm confident don't present a security problem, and I'd prefer to use the cycles for my task rather than needlessly scanning. Other antivirus products

allow the user to halt, then resume when desired again.

 

Running Win7 Pro 64-bit
