My old XP has run its Network Wizard, and it's prepared to share a drive and a printer. My new 7 (not prpared for a "Home Network") is able, via my explicit \ coding, to map the XP disk correctly. However, when I add a new printer (XP's) to 7, it searches

the network (direct EtherNet cabling), finds the shared printer, and then refuses to complete the process because "a spooler is not started/running". I searched the indexes of both of my Dummies books (XP & 7), and I find no reference to the term 'spooler'

in any context.

What is 7 looking for, and where can I find it?
