WindowsUpdate_80004002 [ How can I FORCE install SP2 and hopefull repair whatever is wrong with Vis

There is a problem out here that seems to have NEVER been answered. The problem is a real stinker and search here, in the forums and in the wild seem to turn up emptly.

 

This has to do with updating various versions of Windows Vista to SP2 or Windows 8 causing untold numbers to be stuck.

 

For me I do have anothe boot volume with a fresh install of Win7 but I still would like to have my Vista volume upgraded from SP1 to SP2 and maybe to Win7. For me it is on a faster drive and I have done some many things to this volume over the time that

I have used that I could never rebuild it with a fresh install.
