I moved my boot disk to a new motherboard and need to clean up errors. I have not been able to repair or install a new system from my

original disk. I installed a 3rd party PCI to IDE 2 channel controller for the disk. There is no floppy or IDE interface on the new board.

I installed the driver before moving the disk because it was the only way to get to the IDE boot drive.

It works well except for the occasional freeze on the internet. I am sure I have some loose ends in the registery or possibly missing files.

I updated my system from a Pentium III to i5-3550. Max memory on old board was 512 MB and new one now at 4 GB with room for 32 GB.

Can I purchase a new Windows XP Pro installation disk at latest level, or is there a way around this problem?

I have a downloaded SP3 disk which I used to update my system when SP3 was released.
