You know how frustration can nearly drive you to smash your computer? Me = on the verge.

I don't know technical lingo, and I'm nearly at my wits-end here hoping someone might be able to help me. Basically, I've run through the possibility that it might my USB drive that wasn't working, but now I see it's ANY USB that goes into my computer

since the "failed Windows 7 updates" - which I have no idea why they won't install.

I've re-installed them, restarted the computer, run diagnostic programs as suggested by Microsoft aids, installed each update separately, and neither update will actually work. I've gone over the forums and can't understand what anyone is talking about,

so I'm hoping that I'm not posting again, but at the same time, needing lay-man's terms as far as this goes.

Here are the details:

Update for Kernel-Mode Driver Framework version 1.11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2685811)

Download size: 656 KB

Update type: Recommended

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2685811

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932)

Download size: 13.6 MB

Update type: Important

http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=206783

Super stuck,

Sera
