Guest sgopus Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 I can't seem to locate the system restore folder, I need to exclude these files from a backup that I'm trying to make with Acronis True Image 10 Home. it keeps erring when it hits certain files that are located in System restore.
Guest Gerry Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Re: system restore files Go to Start, Control Panel, Folder Options, View, Advanced Settings and verify that the box before "Show hidden files and folders" is checked and "Hide protected operating system files " is unchecked. You may need to scroll down to see the second item. You should also make certain that the box before "Hide extensions for known file types" is not checked. Notwithstanding there remain some files which remain hidden. You still will not see the System Volume Information folder. How to Gain Access to the System Volume Information Folder http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;309531 -- Hope this helps. Guest sgopus Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Re: system restore files All those settings are fine, I can see hidden system files and etc, I just don't know where the restore files are stored, nor what they are called so I can add them to an exclusion list for True Image, if TI has this ability. I've been using ATI for several years now and have never had that or any similar problem.
Guest sgopus Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Re: system restore files Yeah? So what's your point?? I'm seeing errors ie restore files, and figured that would resolve them.
