Why aren't my brightness keys working since upgrading to Windows 8?

I just bought a new Samsung 13.3 inch notebook. And did the upgrade to windows 8. Now I've lost most of the function keys abilities. ie the backlit function keys dont work anymore, either do the brightness keys. And also the the trackpad wont accept 2

finger page scrolling anymore. Whats going on??? I've just sold all my apple products, now I'm having issues with Windows. Annoying.
