System hive in Windows 2000

Bug in one application created multiple registry entries and System hive

increased up to 17 Mb. I am sure server will crash during next reboot because

of system hive size limitation in Windows 2000. I can delete these registry

entries but system hive will not shrink in size. Any utility or method I can

use to shrink system hive?

Create an Emergency Repair Disk and select the option to backup the

registry to the repair folder. The hive will be compacted and saved to

the %systemroot%\repair\RegBack folder.
