disk manager not listing E:

Normally when I insert the SD disk from my camera I get a little menu asking what I want to do with these files. Today, I am not getting that. Last time it worked propoerly was two days ago. It is not a new disk, although it was reformatted after the

last time I took the pics off it. It is not a new camera. When I put the disk in the computer [Dell Inspiron 1520, XP SP3] nothing happens. If i go to My Computer, the E drive is not listed. If I look at disk manager (rt-click on My computer) the E drive

is not listed under storage devices. Where did it go? I would very much like to get these pics off the disk and onto my computer.
