What does error code 0x80244019 when I try to update virus and spyware definities in Security Essent

I recently had to reload my OS due to slow PC performance. After several upgrades, I loaded Security Essentials, which scanned and protected my PC. However I keep receiving the same error message (above) when I try to upgrade virus and spyware definitions.
