windows xp Cannot activate Windows XP

hi there

My notebook was bought in my local tesco 3 years ago with Windows XP preinstalled, I had the key code on the bottom, had to have the notebook rebooted with fresh windows XP installed, and now I cant activate my Windows key code.

 

I have rung microsoft and they told me it was blocked and to ring my manufacturer, never had such a farce before !
