I've been neutral on Windows 8, impressed by some things, missing others. But I'm getting more negative about the system. Today my system would not recognize any flash drives. I was going to reboot it and notice that an important update was scheduled.

Three Hours later, it is still installing update 1 of 1 and please don't plug the computer. If an update is going to take so long, why isn't there some progress meter? I can see the disk actively being used, but no idea when I'm going to get my

system back so I can work again.
