My updates download and install.  After installing I get the message that updates were successfully installed.

At this point there is usually a box that says restart required, but there is none.  Previously, after restarting

the configureing message appeared and the updates were configured.  I do a manual restart after installing

but still do not get the message "Configureing Updates

I just changed to Windows 7,  so maybe that is not the way it happens now. I had to install a new hard drive

and reinstall all the drivers that windows did not install.  Everything else seems to work OK
