Dual NIC ports - load balancing

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi,

We want load balancing from a server with a dual NIC to a switch with

port trunking enabled.

The first NIC port has IP 192.168.33.10, GW 192.168.33.1 and DNS + WINS

192.168.33.10. Which IP properties do you assign to the second port?

Which other issues need to be taken into consideration when enabling

loadbalancing..?

Re: Dual NIC ports - load balancing

Hello,

trunk is layer 2, IP is layer 3.

You would use the manufacturer tools from broadcom or intel to make layer 2

connectivity (trunk).

Broadcom or intel will create a virtual adapter for both real hardware ones,

where you set only one IP. Real adapter then don't have any ip binded to it

directly
