Hi Guys,

I have done an upgrade from Office 2010 to Office 2013 on two remote desktop session hosts (Server 2008 R2). Since this we have been experiencing the following two issues.

1. On launch of Outlook 2013 it displays "configuring Office 2013 64-bit components"

2. Poor performance in all Office applications.

Resolutions tried:

1. I have tried the registry fix suggested in this thread:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/officesetupdeploy/thread/b8e8277c-a2f9-426a-bb3d-3f45bd0a47fc and cannot remove the component as suggested due to the component not being installed. I have also tried running as admin, doing a repair install

and clean reinstalls.

2. I have tried the registry fix to disable animations (via group policy) and disabling hardware acceleration (also via group policy). The second seemed to help somewhat but it is not as quick as it was in Office 2010. We have also tried disabling all

Outlook add ins which helps performance in Outlook somewhat but again is not great.

As a test I spawned a new Virtual Machine to set up from scratch as a Remote Desktop session host and this is experiencing.

We have also reinstalled Office 2010 on one of the servers which is not experiencing the same problems as 2013.

Thanks In Advance

Alex
