walt Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Hi, I have got a Dell Dimension 4600 running XP. Have had it for about four years now and having problems on starting it up, I have been advised that the bit were it reads the bios bit is wearing away and it is finding it hard to read. Now the question I would like to ask is, as my wife and I are in our late 50s, we only use it for the net, doing a bit of photo work, save pictures and not really play many games. Which sort of computer do you think we should go for? We really do not use all the stuff on the one we have now, so I was thinking that we could go for something that is more useful to us and not have to pay for stuff we don't use. Any ideas on this would be very hulpful. Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I'd go for another Dell PC running Vista Walt, it's good gear, get a good anti virus like NOD32's Security Suite and your laughing mate. 4 years old is starting to get long in the tooth for a box so I'd back your personal stuff up to an external drive for when you get the new one. Totally agree with Wolfey, just make sure any new system has 2 Gigabytes of memory or more and you are sorted. Quote
