Hi there

My original cd rw drive was broken so I bought a dvd rw drive to replace it.

Im not that clued up on replacing parts in a pc but it seemed straight forward.

Its a LINEON but i didnt take a note of the model.

The problem is this, although the new drive seems to be working ok (it opens and closes) my pc hasnt detected it.

I am sooooooooo desperate to get this working because I have just bought wrath of the lich king (world of warcraft) and i neeeeeeeeeeeed to play it!!! heehee

Im running windows XP proffesional service pack 3

I hope that all made some sense

Is this a SATA or IDE type drive sbab?

If it's IDE you may not have the connector fully secure on the drive.

Its IDE. Ill take it apart again and have a look. Its more than likely i didnt push it in hard enough lol

Thanks and Ill let you know if that worked :)

Please do.

Make sure the connectors are secure on both the motherboard, if running as secondary master, and the other drive if running as slave in either primary or secondary.
