So I purchased a new laptop with Win7 installed in it, and decided to take advantage of the cheap Win8 upgrade offer - just in case. I'm not willing to fully commit myself to Win8 yet but I'd like to fiddle around with it anyway, and so I tried to create

a dual boot on another partition which failed because of the disk being of GPT style.

Now, after reading a bit, I though of this: would I be able to delete the existing partitions and reformat the drive to be MBR and then reinstall Win7 (from a recovery DVD) in this new partition, and then install Win8 after that on a new second partition?

Would this work (as in not making any harm to the drive itself), and get my system to dual boot both of them?
