Security Essentials Updates

I notice that lately, the last week, that the updates to MS Security Essentials are delayed or not made available by at least two days.  I make a habit of checking for updates on a daily basis, sometimes more often,  before I open my browser.  The updates,

up until lately, have usually happened at least twice a day.  Yesterday Security Essentials had no update available since 1/19/20113.  Finally, toward the end of the day, it updated to something from 1/20/2013.  This morning, 1/22/2013, I received two new

updates which bring the current update to one which was created on 1/21/2013 at 9:05AM.  Usually I would have received an update from something that was created yesterday PM.  I wonder if there is, in fact, now a lag in available updates and their delivery

to be downloaded?  I really appreciate having Security Essentials available.  I have tried several of the third party security software and found them to be expensive, cumbersome and very intrusive on the system.  Security Essentials does the best job in protecting

my computer!  Just curious about the apparent update delay.
