The first thing I noticed was that my PC kept turning itself off if I went away from the computer - if I pressed the power-on button it came on again - so no problem.

Then after a couple of weeks it suddenly turned itself off whilst I was using it and I couldn't turn it back on again.

I thought it was the Bios so I removed the little battery and returned it after about 20mins - still no joy.  Then I pressed the F2 key whilst turning on the PC and then the screen told me that it was starting the default Bios which was great - just changed

the system date and everything seemed to be fine.

But then after a while the PC turned itself off again and a message appeared that it could not return from hibernation....

I have gone to the power settings and changed what I thought was causing the problems to 'never'.

My PC is almost two years old and has never behaved like this before.  I have only installed the updates.  Should I do a restore or have I done the right thing by changing the settings?

I do not know exactly what the settings should be for a desktop computer or what they were before the updates.  I tried returning it to the default settings but that removes all the 'never' flags and says yes to hibernation etc.  I do not leave the PC turned

on all the time - just turn it on and off as and when I need to.

I would be grateful if someone could tell me what the correct settings should be?
