Virus removed Windows update file in Services.msc -- now windows security essentials won't update. V

I manually updates the definitions and ran a full scan with Securities essentials -- it cleared but would not update definitions. -- I went into services.msc but windows update file was missing. Can I copy the file from another windos 7 computer and paste

it into this one or might there be other issues -- how should I proceed?
