My whole computer is FUBAR??

on laptop-i restored it back to a month ago, then i updated all from Microsoft & Norton, then ran a Norton program that checks for malware and requires a computer restart. After it finished, my results showed it got rid of platypus.dll, but doesn't do

anything now. the only thing i can do is move my mouse and shut down computer. Any ideas?...Windows 7
