windows 7 Is there anything like Tivo for computers?

Greetings my most intelligent friends,

 

      Okay Tiff's got a "Blonde Girl" type of question.... but oddly enough she's a flaming red head!....go figure....must have blonde roots?  Okay back to the question. Is there a Tivo type of service/device  for a computer like mine running Windows7

spk1? or.....is there a reliable program available out there somwhere on the net  for watching television on my computer that actually gets my local channels, not sumo wrestling from Japan for God's sake?  I've tried a dozen programs offered on the net and

not a single solitary one actually worked, darn it all! Thanks a bunch!!!

 

P.S. Money's on Fugimora in this years finals, he's absolutely HUGE!!!!
