After a recovery on my five year old Vista, my computer will not play MVI movies from my Canon. Is

My computer is five years old.

 

It has always played the MVI movies I take with my Canon camera. 

 

I performed a complete recovery on the computer. 

 

Now the windows will not play the MVI movies.  f

 

I assume there is some kind of download for this.  {I have tried a couple of downloads from sites that were a type of scam.  They wanted me to add and keep that damn Snap Do. )

 

Help will be appreciated.
